The Father film review

Unfortunately it has been a while since my last post but, I am back here with a vengeance and a new review of a movie called The Father. Now this will be quite short and to the point as I don't have too much to say about this movie.

Synopsis: The Father was directed by  Florian Zeller and it tells the story a father (Anthony Hopkins) dealing with dementia, he forgets where he is, who his daughter is and as he tries to make since of the changing circumstances he begins to doubt his loved ones, his own mind and even the fabric of reality.

My Thoughts: I will start by saying I really liked this film, now this is the kind of movie that I don't often watch, but I am glad I did.

First of all I like how the story is told from the perspective of The Father played by Anthony Hopkins, as this gives us as the audience some perspective how it feels to have dementia or alzheimer's. The confusion that he feels becomes our confusion as well. You see his daughter played excellently by Olivia Colman will sometimes be replaced by another actor. I myself in the theater was at first startled, but this movie really gives some perspective to how it feels to have dementia. There are other stuff similar to that in the film as well and it really works.

I also like the actors in this movie. Anthony Hopkins does a superb job and he really deserved the Oscar he got for his role here. Olivia Colman also does an amazing job playing the daughter and you really can see how hard the situation is for her as well.

Verdict: Usually when movie is about someone dealing with dementia, you might get the outside view from the people close to him or helping him, but this movie gives you the perspective of the person going through it and it really works. I honestly think it is one of the best movies of the 2020, I highly recommend it. I give it a 9/10

The Courier movie review

(Theatrical release poster) The Courier (2020) is written by Tom O'Connor and directed by Dominic Cooke. It is a espionage drama/thriller and it takes place during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Synopsis: Greville Wynne (Benedict Cumberbatch) a British Businessman is recruited by the MI6 and the CIA to provide crucial intelligence to prevent nuclear war between the Soviet Union and USA. To do this he forms a covert partnership with Oleg Penkovsky (Merab Ninidze) a Soviet officer. My thoughts: I enjoyed this film and don't have too much anything bad to say about it. I think Benedict Cumberbatch does an excellent job as usual, he is believable, he has depth and brings emotion to the character and the movie. Also the other actors do a great job and I want to mention Merab Ninidze, who plays the Soviet officer who helps to provide ...
